March 3, 2008

On Monday, Feb. 25, after a mostly non-raw weekend, I was back up to 237 lbs. By Thursday, I had dropped to 230 lbs. This past weekends, I did get one salad in, but mostly ate crap.. cannolis on Saturday (and not raw ones, either!), a catered gourmet dinner on Saturday night (I won tickets to a Casting Crowns concert.. there was a pre-concert reception).. on Sunday we ate at Whole Foods, where I had a mixture of things, and then ate a couple of desserts later.

Still, my weigh-in for this morning is 234 lbs.. still a 3 lb. decrease from last Monday. We bought all kinds of healthy foods yesterday.. my wife is sincerely trying to be more raw.. but it's very difficult for her, so I commend her for trying.. for me, it's easy.. during the week... it's the weekends that are really hard. This weekend coming up, we're going on a spiritual retreat.. not really sure what to expect food-wise (I was told "Brazilian food".. and in my past experience, that usually includes a lot of meat!) so we'll be bringing raw food bars and lots of fruit, so maybe we'll do better this weekend.

We bought about 10 pounds of organic apples.. Cameos and Ambrosias.. best tasting apples ever! Also, lots of raw nuts, and I bought a small bag of raw cacao powder.

I discovered something I like much better than Larabars.. raw organic food bars .. fantastic.. so far we've had the cinnamon raisin and the chocolatey delite (with 14 grams of fiber! - yet it doesn't taste "fibrous"). Yesterday I bought the chocolate coconut and chocolatey chocolate chip.. if we like those, we'll order more from vitacost.com, where I found the best case prices.

My goal weight for next Monday, March 10: 227 lbs.
