Friday. The summer is just flying by. We are still in deep survival mode, but my raw diet has not suffered too much. I have still be able to each all fruit for breakfast. Usually a banana or two and a smoothie. I have been able to secure tremendous bargains on peaches from a farmer around the corner from me. He sells me the peaches with bruises on them for 40-50 cents per pound. I use them for smoothies. I cannot afford dates right now, so I have been putting some organic sugar in them. Dinner has been salad with whatever vegan cooked stuffed we can scrap together. Its been quite good actually, just not raw. Like today I had about 40oz of peach smoothie, 2 bananas for breakfast. Then for dinner I had a salad with 3 pecan-carrot burgers. Thats another thing, I think I am eating too much. I had intended to have 2 burgers (they are delicious), but my wife had prepared 3 for me. I was too weak to say no and I didn't want to offend her. I wasn't full anyways, but just comfortable. I still think I am eating too much. I believe I can eat all the fruit that I can afford to eat, but of cooked stuff.....portion control is important. my weight has been around 194 these days. I really like being 185, but my body just won't stay there. Today was officially the 30th day of power-walking. Its a good workout. I intend to continue it.I am thinking about increasing the weight from 2lbs to 3-5lbs, but thats for later. Too poor right now to buy anything but the basics. So, I just keep on going forward until this passes as the Word says "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning".
Todays fare (as described above):
breakfast:
2 bananas, 40oz of peach smoothie.
Dinner:
3 pecan-carrot burgers, salad. plus another half a burger naked.
Exercise:
4 mile power walk.

Thursday.I have been eating all raw for breakfast, then eating large salads followed by vegan lunch/dinner. I say lunch/dinner because I am eating dinner at a time that most each lunch (usually early afternoon). My weight is fluctuating between 193lbs and 195lbs. I feel very good physically but I did like it better in the 180s. Although I remain under the same high degree of stress I have been under for several months now, I am able to stay calm. I know the Lord is keeping me, but I cannot discount the blessings of the raw diet lifestyle. If I had to guess I'd say I was eating about 80-90% raw. I figure my percentage by the approximate weight of the food I am eating. Fruit is definitely very dense.and I usually can eat 3-4 bananas in the morning along with an avocado and then 32-40oz of fruit smoothie. Thats usually about 4-5lbs altogether. Now the salads are always much lighter in weight and if I eat a large plate its still probably no more than 4-6oz tops. The cooked stuff probably weighs 1-2lbs tops. Its usually bulgar wheat with boiled plantain or a pecan-carrot-oatmeal burger or eggplant burger on toasted ezekiel bread. That's how I arrive at the 80-90% thing, I don't know how others figure it out, but thats how I do it. I have continued to power walk 4 miles per day, six days per week. But I have not done any other exercise (save play basketball a couple of times per week) as far as resistance training in weeks. I want to get back to it, but to be honest sometimes depression saps my will to do it and after the walk I am done. I can play ball because I go out with my son and I like the bonding oportunity. Troubled times always bring mental trials, but I seek to keep praying and fighting through it and eventually I will get back to some form of resistance training.
Todays menu was (delicious):
Breakfast:
3 bananas, one avocado, 40oz of banana-watermelon smoothie.
dinner:
Plate of green salad, 2 eggplant sandwiches on toasted ezekiel bread. Small amount of boiled plantain with bulgar wheat.
Exercise:
4 mile power walk.
