Friday......its been awhile longer than I would have liked since my last blog (my apologies). I have been busy. I am on day 5 of a 30 day all-fruit foray. The reason is I wanted to make sure my mind was very clear regarding a personal decision I had been contemplating. Basically, I was trying to decide whether or not to go to law school. This may seem minor to most people but to me it would be a very major step. After praying on it alot, it did not take long for me to receive my answer from the Lord. No. This was alittle disappointing at first but relieving at the same time. I have made many mistakes in my life that have brought painful lessons. I am at the point where I would like to minimize them as much as possible. I especially am tired of repeating the same mistakes over and over. It gets old. So I want to make right decisions which requires Wisdom. I seek Heaven for this. I am comforted by the Lord's guidance (He is my Sheperd as long as I allow Him to be). So, I needed only 5 days on the fruit diet to get this answer, but I did commit to 30 days and I do feel very good so I am going to continue by God's grace. Included in the fruit are things like soaked nuts, seeds, cucumbers, tomatoes and sweet peppers. These things give me choices for savory meals while still being on fruit (and all raw). What's out (for now) are all vegetables, grains and popcorn (non-raw item). These had all been in the diet over the last few weeks. The grains coming from bulgar wheat and raw corn. I looking forward to consuming my wife's raw cabbage wrap when this is done. That's become like my favorite meal. I must admit, it always amazes me how much of an energy boost I get when I consume all-fruit. I have also re-started my exercise routine (of sorts) this week. I ran 4 miles on Tuesday, did some calistenics and iso-metric exercise on Wednesday, then did a 4 mile power walk with 2lb weights in each hand with my wife on Thursday. It was very good. I am seeking to use this 30 day window to reduce my portions as I believe I still eat too much in terms of total volume (a holdover from my SAD life of the past). Here was today's menu:

Breakfast:
2 bananas......32oz fruit smoothie.

Lunch:
mango, 2 bananas, 8oz of green grapes, bowl of almond pate with cucs and tomatoes.

Later:
16oz of lemonade......2 avocados.

Exercise:
none today......still sore from the weeks activities.

Tuesday. My wife and I decided to try yet another experiment. We decided to walk 4 miles per day, 6 days per week for one month. We will be doing "power-walking" (walking with hand held weights). We would like to know if our bodies improve on this regiment as opposed to what we have been doing. We usually work out 2-4 days per week (when we do work out consistently, which I haven't been doing for awhile). We noticed how there are people who really do not eat all that well, but eat smaller portions and walk daily for an hour that lose a ton of weight. We really dont have a ton to lose (none in fact), but it speaks to the effectiveness of simply walking consistently for an hour per day. We decided to start officially on Sunday (6/29). As for the diet, its going well. No slip-ups from either raw or the fruit-nut-seed thing. Although I have been eating between meals and I broke my usual Monday fast last night as opposed to this morning, so there is definitely room for improvement. The month of June is always slow for me business-wise (I dont know why) and that always creates some increase in stress. I believe that played into me ending the fast last night instead of this morning. I broke it with bananas (4) and avocados (2). I really have been loving the avocados during this thing. Here is the menu for today:

Breakfast:
3 bananas, 8oz of grapes.

Lunch:
bowl of spicy almond pate with sliced cukes, bowl of grapes.

Later:
Large fruit smoothies.

Exercise:
3 sets of squats with bands for resistance, 3 sets of light dumbell curls and 3 sets of iso-metric chest exercise.
